U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has assured Sartaj Aziz, the Foreign Affairs Advisor to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, that Washington is ready to improve and expand its multidimensional partnership with Islamabad.
The remarks were exchanged when Kerry and Aziz met on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting being held in Laos.
The duo also exchanged views on the regional situation with special reference to Afghanistan.
A communiqué issued in Islamabad said both Aziz and Kerry agreed on the importance of promoting the Afghan-led reconciliation process.
“I would like to visit Pakistan in the near future to review bilateral cooperation and discuss regional issues,” the Dawn quoted Kerry as saying.
He also appreciated Islamabad’s determined efforts to eliminate terrorist groups in the tribal belt of the country.
