Kochi, November 04: The Centre has sought a report from the Intelligence Bureau on a survey reportedly conducted recently at Thiruvananthapuram for a US organisation.
Union Minister of State for Home Mullapally Ramachandran told reporters here that he had sought a report from the IB chief.
“The matter is being taken very seriously,” he said.
The survey was conducted on October 2 at Karimadam colony in the state capital, where at least 100 poor families reside. The 83 page questionnaire had some questions on the Muslim community asking how religious they were, whether they like to wear burqa and their opinion on US President Barack Obama’s administration.
Some of the locals complained to the police, following which the survey was stopped.
