US open to consider requests on new regulations, State Secretary Pompeo

Amidst new regulations being imposed by Trump’s administration on cutting down Iranian oil imports, the US said it is open to considering requests from some countries to be exempted from the new proposed sanctions which will be effective from November said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday.

“There will be a handful of countries that come to the United States and ask for relief from that. We’ll consider it,” Pompeo responded when asked about any exemptions to countries who are already in agreement with Iran, Middle East Monitor reported.

Pompeo, however, did not mention any names of the countries the US plans to exempt from.
