US Navy banned TARGETS of Muslim woman with verse of Quran

US Navy were using a cardboard target showing a Muslim woman in hijab, standing in front of Quranic verses with gun.

After harsh criticism the Navy has banned the target.

As per the report published in the Daily Mail, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) asked the Pentagon to remove it after a picture of the controversial target was published by the Virginian-Pilot last Tuesday.

According to Virginian-Pilot newspaper, Nihad Awad, executive director of the Washington-based group, wrote a letter to Mr. Leon Panetta, Defense Secretary, last Friday to condemn the target.

Leon Panetta also criticize the Target and said it is ‘offensive and sends a negative and counterproductive message to trainees and to the Muslim-majority nations to which they may be deployed.’

The Navy acted promptly and confirmed about the banning of Target at the Virginia training range.
