Waziristan, February 04: The US-led NATO soldiers have killed a Pakistani soldier in a clash near the country’s border with Afghanistan, a report says.
The exchange of fire broke out when NATO troops fired three mortar shells inside Pakistan at Tehsil Ghulam Khan of North Waziristan tribal region early Thursday, a Media correspondent reported.
Pakistani security forces responded with heavy weapons and clashes continued into late Thursday but no further casualties were reported.
Pakistani military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas has confirmed the clashes in North Waziristan.
Pakistani security officials have registered a formal protest with the NATO about the unprovoked firing from across the border.
