Kabul, June 01: The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) announced in a statement on Wednesday that the soldier was killed on Tuesday.
ISAF did not, however, reveal the nationality of the dead soldier, the Associated Press reported.
According to the report, at least 56 foreign troops—mostly Americans— have been killed in Afghanistan in May.
The total foreign troop fatalities stand at over 215 so far this year, according to the Icasualties.org.
Attacks on US-led foreign forces are on the rise across Afghanistan in what has been referred to as the Taliban spring offensive.
The US military announced on Tuesday that three US soldiers were killed in eastern Afghanistan in an improvised explosive device attack.
As the US-led force casualties persistently climb in Afghanistan, public opinion in the United States and other Western countries is increasingly turning against the Afghan war.
