Thiruvananthapuram, August 22: Noted Malayalam writer and journalist Vithura Baby has been selected for the literary award of US-based Houston Kerala Writers Forum.
Baby, who has penned a number of short stories and articles on a host of subjects, was selected for the award for his recently published work “Sathaythinte Ativerukal” (Roots of truth), forum President Mathew Nellikunnu said in a release here today.
The award winning work is a collection of sketches of several leading personalities who had left a deep impression in Kerala’s political, social and cultural fields.
“This work stands out on account of its earnest effort to catch the essential personality of people it deals with with in a higly creative manner’, the forum said.
The award carries Rs 30,000, citation and memento.
