(Siasat News)Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the California man behind a controversial anti-Islam film which sparked a wave of violent protests, was taken into federal custody on suspicion of violating terms of his probation.
After 2010 conviction, Nakoula was sentenced to 21 months in prison and was barred from using Internet for five years without an approval from his probation officer.
His 14—minute trailer for the film “Innocence of Muslims” was posted on You Tube in July, leading to protests around the world killing dozens.
U.S. Central District Chief Magistrate Judge Suzanne Segal orders imprisonment for him.
Nakoula, originally from Egypt, went into hiding after he was identified as the man behind the trailer. Nakoula, 55, was handcuffed and shackled in court.
The movie was made last year by a man who called himself Sam Bacile. After the violence erupted, a man called media outlets and identified himself as Bacile. Later Federal authorities confirmed that Nakoula was behind the movie.
Trailer can still be found on You Tube. However Obama’s administrative asked Google to take down the video, but the company refused, saying it violates its content standards.
Meanwhile, Actress Cindy Lee Garcia, other actors and workers of the film come forward and that they were hired for a film titled “Desert Warrior” and they didn’t know that the film is of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH).
