Washington: The just concluded visit to the US and Canada is likely to attract Rs 10,000 crores that would create 40,000 new employment in the state, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said.
“We anticipated an investment of RS 10,000 crore, which would create 40,000 new employment opportunities in the State as a result of the US and Canada visit,” Khattar told PTI in an email statement after concluding his 10-day trip to North America.
Expressing satisfaction over the successful outcome of the visit and number of meetings with business tycoons and leading multi nationals in USA and Canada, he said that many foreign investors had evinced keen interest in investing in Haryana in sectors such as infrastructure, housing, IT, education, Medicare and healthcare.
“The four MOUs we have signed with Google, CISCO, United Technologies and Applied Materials speak in no small measure for the success of our visit. Haryana is closer to a digital dawn, thanks to the agreement with Google,” he said.
“It will also lend its shoulders to the wheel being pushed by various departments of the state government to optimize their sites for mobile platforms,” he added.
“I see big investments coming which will put the state in higher growth orbit and generate huge employment opportunities. What’s more, skilling Haryana has got a shot in the arm,” Khattar said.
The Chief Minister said Investors in US and Canada have been told that those coming to invest in Haryana would now be able to select a place of their choice in any part of the state for setting up industry.
The message has gone home that the state government is determined to create industry and entrepreneur-friendly atmosphere in the state, and act as a facilitator, a sure pointer to which can be seen in the recently launched new Entrepreneur Promotion Policy, 2015, he said.
“You will shortly see the outcome of the visit,” said Khattar, who led a high-powered delegation to US and Canada.
