London, June 9 (ANI): A US official has branded the two-day summit between President Barack Obama and Chinese leader Xi Jinping as ”positive” and ”constructive”. The summit between the two leaders focused on issues of cyber security, economy, and environment, reports BBC.
Obama said that cyber security is ”uncharted waters”, and warned Xi that cyber crimes could be an ”inhibitor” in US-China ties. According to the report, US National security advisor, Tom Donilon said that Obama has described the type of problems faced by US from cyber-intrusion and theft of intellectual property. The leaders jointly agreed that North Korea had to denuclearise and they would work together with dialogue and co-operation for it. They also agreed for the reduction of hydroflurocarbons- a potent greenhouse gas On the economic aspect, US producers want China to raise the value of its currency, the remninbi, which would make Chinese goods more expensive for foreign buyers and possibly hold back exports. The report further added that the summit was the first meeting between the two leaders after Xi became president in March. (ANI)
