US blitz kills dozens in Afghanistan

Kabul, February 22: Fresh air strikes by the United States have killed at least 20 people and injured 15 others in central Afghanistan, the Afghan interior ministry says.

The attacks took place in Uruzgan province on Monday.

Women and children are among the victims, according to reports.

Many Afghan civilians have been killed both by violent militant acts, including bombings and daily fighting, as well as by US military operations in the country.
