11 dead bodies of babies were discovered hidden at a former funeral home in Detroit after officials got an anonymous letter leading them to the remains.
Detroit police Lieutenant Brian Bowser said Police are investigating after authorities found nine badly decomposed bodies inside a box and two inside a casket, all hidden in a false ceiling at the former Cantrell Funeral Home.
Officials were recognising the remains and notifying parents, It is unclear how long the remains were hidden. Lieutenant Brian Bowser said some of the babies had clearly been stillborn.
He said “We have to find out what happened and why it happened, and police are trying to contact Raymond Cantrell,” who is the former owner of the funeral home.
The funeral home was also accused of some licensing and financial violations.
