New Delhi: Railways have pressed into service two special trains from Chhapra and Barauni to handle rush of pilgrims to Ajmer Shareef for the Urs of sufi saint Khwaja Garib Nawaz.
Chhapra-Ajmer-Chhapra Urs special and Barauni-Ajmer- Barauni Urs special trains will be running from April 11 and 12 from Chhapra and Barauni respectively.
Both the trains will make single trip in each direction, according to railways.
The Chhapra Ajmer Urs special train will depart from Chhapra on April 11 on Monday at 8.30 pm to arrive in Ajmer at 12.55 am on April 13. In the return journey, the Ajmer-Chhapra Urs special train will depart from Ajmer on April 16 on Saturday at 12.30 am to reach Chhapra at 2.50 am the next day.
Consisting of one AC-2 tier, two AC-3 tier, seven sleeper class, ten general class and two second class cum-luggage van coaches, the Chhapra-Ajmer-Chhapra Urs special train will stop at Siwan, Deoria Sadar, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, Etawah, Tundla, Agra Fort, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, among other places.
Barauni-Ajmer Urs special train will depart from Barauni on April 12 at 7.10 am to arrive in Ajmer at 5.10 pm the next day. In the return direction, the Ajmer-Barauni Urs special train will depart from Ajmer on April 17 at 5.25 am to reach Barauni at 7.45 pm the next day.
Consisting of two AC-3 tier, four sleeper class, eight general class and two disabled-friendly second class-cum- luggage van coaches, the Barauni-Ajmer-Barauni Urs special train will stop at Samastipur, Muzzaffarpur, Hajipur, Sonpur, Chhapra, Lucknow, Kanpur, Etawah, Tundla, Agra Fort among othr stations enroute in both the directions.
