The Annual Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti began in Ajmer. However officials of Telangana government are not able to decide when to send the ‘sheath’ to offer on behalf of Telangana government. On the direction of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Minority Welfare Department had prepared a sheath costing 1.73 lakh which await offering for the past two month. Now that the Urs celebration has actually begun and only 4 days are left for it to end, the question is when the sheath will be offered by Telangana government. Government and officials of minority welfare department fail to say anything about the matter, as it needs approval of the chief minister. Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali who has already visited the Dargah is also ignorant as to when the sheath will be sent for offering.
It must not be out of place to mention here that on behalf of US President Barack Obama, that country’s envoy to India Richard Verma has already offered a ‘Chadar’ at the Ajmer Dargah Shareef on the occasion of the 803rd Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.
