Urgent Visa Processing During Holidays

Abu Dhabi, November 28: Special units at the naturalisation, residency and exit checkpoints in the country will continue receiving urgent applications in the morning during the Eid Al Adha and National Day holidays.

The urgent cases are limited and considered in all department, which will handle them in a fixed hours.

According to Major General Nasser Al Awadhi Al Minhali, acting assistant undersecretary for Naturalization and Residency Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, the move was taken in pursuance to the directives of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Ministery of Interior.

The personnel at the departments will work in the morning to finalise the transactions, which cannot be delayed or postponed after the holiday, for the delay or postponement will result in the applicant violating the law.

He cited examples like the renewal of a passport for an Emirati and the residency visa of an expatriate for health conditions.

“Transactions which are viewed as not urgent will be postponed to after the holidays,” he added.
