The mandate of Maulana Azad National Urdu University envisages the promotion of Urdu language, imparting technical and professional training through the medium of Urdu and focus on women’s education.
Admission notification for the degree courses of BA, B.Sc and B.Com through Distance mode has not yet been released by Urdu University. The students are worried about it. Urdu University is advertising for admissions into various other courses. On the representation of the lovers of Urdu, Vice Chancellor had given an assurance to issue admission notification by contacting the UGC authorities.
Representation was also made by meeting Mr. Pallam Raju, HRD Minister when he had come to attend a function at the University. So far, notification for admissions has not yet been issued by the University whereas it has announced to conduct eligibility test for admission into various degree courses that are offered by Urdu University through Distance Mode.
The schedule of contact classes for the first, second and third year of BA, B.Sc and B.Com has also not been released yet. Study material has also not been sent to the students. The University used to conduct practical examinations for science subjects during May every year, Even this schedule has been postponed this year also.
Students have an apprehension that they might lose one academic year. Urdu organizations and Urdu lovers are requested to make representations to Urdu University authorities so that one academic year of the students could be saved. If this is not done the Urdu proverb “Ghar Ko Lagi hai aag Ghar ke Chiragh se” would come true.
