Urdu University authorities violate sanctity of Ramadan

University authorities have continued wilfulness even during the Holy Month of Ramadan. With the beginning of Ramadan, government, aided and even private institutions relaxed the timings for their workers but Maulana Azad National University authorities instead of giving relaxation have landed its Muslim workers into further trouble. Usual university timings are from 9:30 am to 6 pm but during Ramadan the timings have been rescheduled from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm thus the university is forcing its staff to arrive one hour before the time. Thus Urdu University with this unique decision has showed anti-Islamic attitude.

Higher authorities of Urdu University have very less association with Islam hence they fail to understand the sanctity of the month of Ramadan. Sadly Urdu University sprawled over 200 acre Waqf land has no masjid in the premises. Whenever represented Vice Chancellors rejected the proposal. Incharge registrar has to say that no religious activity is possible in the university. He told that university was a government institution and it had no Muslim or minority status hence the masjid could not be constructed.
