Hyderabad: “Urdu is a very sweet and a popular language. I have studied it as one of the subjects at my school level. While addressing in Urdu at the Urdu Festival organized by Telangana, I feel its sweetness”. These words were spoken by Dr. Yogita Rana, IAS, Collector of Nizamabad District while inaugurating Urdu festival at Telangana University yesterday. She congratulated, Dr. Athar Sultana, Head of the Dept. of Urdu for organizing one day Urdu festival.
Prof. P. Sambaiah, VC of Telangana University presided over the function. Continuing her address, Dr. Rana told that girls should get higher education to get economic self-sufficiency. She quoted her life incidence and told that she prepared for Civil Service Examination despite difficult situations.
Dr. Musa Iqbal, Asst. Professor of Urdu, Convener of Urdu festival proposed vote of thanks.
