Urdu as second official language in Telangana, Bill passed in Assembly

Telangana State Assembly today passed three bills in the House after discussion by the members of ruling and Opposition parties.

The Bills passed by the House include Endowment Amendment Bill, Lokayukta Amendment Bill and Urdu Official Language Amendment Bill in the House after discussion.

Endowment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy introduced the Endowment Amendment bill in the House. Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao introduced Lokayukta Amendment Bill. He also introduced Urdu Official Language Amendment Bill on behalf of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the House.

The Urdu Amendment Bill is aimed to provide official status to Urdu as second language in the State of Telangana. The House discussed threadbare on the three bills and approved them later. The Legislative Council is to approve these bills on November 17. The members of other parties supported the bills after giving their suggestions. (NSS)
