Urdu scrapped from Ambedkar Open University

Hyderabad: Dr B R Ambedkar Open University pays no heed to the government orders. The anti-Urdu officials finally removed Urdu from B.A, B.Com and BSc courses. Last year the facility of writing undergraduate courses exam in Urdu was removed.

On the representation of Siasat, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali had called a meeting of Vice Chancellor Open University and other officials in which the authorities had assured to prepare syllabus in Urdu and restore Urdu medium courses from next year. But the university is totally removing Urdu from the courses itself.

In the fresh notification issued. The page on the university’s website showing academic programmes does not show the Urdu medium option.

It is said that Vice Chancellor and Registrar are surrounded by anti-Urdu elements who have prevented the beginning of course in Urdu. The last date for submission of online applications for graduate courses is August 9. The government should intervene immediately before the last date otherwise the Urdu course will be totally scrapped.
