On one hand state government is taking measures to include Urdu along with Telugu on sign boards of government and private institutions in 15 districts where Urdu has been given the status of 2nd official language. But the problem of Urdu will not be solved only by including it on the sign boards.
In the districts where Urdu has been given the status of 2nd official language, there is no arrangement of accepting Urdu applications in the government offices, nor is Urdu officer appointed in any office not even at collectorate.
The post of Urdu translator is vacant in State legislative assembly and legislative council. No staff is available for translating the assembly agenda into Urdu instead outsourcing services are sought for this. Since the re-establishment of Legislative Council in 2007 no recruitment has been made for Urdu reporter or translator.
