Hyderabad, June 29: The new academic year has started and admissions in Govt. and private schools have almost been completed. This time a positive response was seen with regard to admissions in Urdu medium schools. The efforts made by the teachers of Chelapura Govt. Primary School and a high school in Nawab Sahab Kunta have been fruitful.
Siasat reporter met Mr. Mohammed Azher Ahmed, Headmaster of Primary section who explained to him that due to the education awareness programme, teachers are seriously performing their duties. In Chelapura Govt. Primary School, strength was dwindling, so it was shifted to Nawab Sahab Kunta in Jahanuma area of old city. The school is functioning in a rented building which has 12 rooms, but there is no furniture. The students are sitting on the floor. Last year, the strength of the school was 148. during this academic year nearly 150 new admissions have been given. In Urdu medium itself 61 admissions have been admitted and the urdu medium section now has 209 students.
It is the only school which persmade public through prayers on mike to admit their children in Urdu medium classes. The teachers have arranged mike on their own. The teachers have pooled up money to the extent of Rs. 13,000 which is used to help poor students. Last year 99% students were successful in their examinations. Mr. Azher Ahmed has appealed to the parents to send their children to Urdu medium schools and take advantage of the facilitates that are being provided by the Govt. of A.P.
