Mahboob Nagar has a vast Muslim population. The district named after Nawab Mir Mahboob Ali Khan has a number of educational institutions but Urdu medium schools and colleges are next to nothing. TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao even before the formation of Telangana had promised to form Urdu Medium Degree College for girls in Mahboob Nagar.
Mr. Mohammed Abdur Raheem who is a movement in himself along with his friends made representation with Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister towards the matter
Mr. Mahmood Ali immediately initiated efforts to sanction Urdu medium college and it is likely that B.A., B.Com Urdu medium classes will begin in NTR Degree College from the next academic year.
