Justice Fazal Ali Commission’s first SRC report regarding states’ formation on linguistic basis, especially formation of Andhra Pradesh in the name of Telugu language indicates that Fazal Ali Commission was against Andhra Telangana merger on the basis of Telugu language. Commenting upon the injustices done to marginalized groups in Andhra Pradesh, Chairman Telangana Coordination Committee Dr. Gopal Kishan said Fazal Ali Commission stated regarding the merger that the mistake of uniting innocent and oppressed people of Telangana with the crafty people of Andhra will become the cause of hegemony of non-local language and people in Telangana.
Mr. Gopal Kishan said after Hyderabad merger in Andhra such circumstances emerged which became the cause of destruction of the languages of Telangana particularly Telugu and Urdu. He claimed that Asif Jahi rulers didn’t have prejudice towards any language. They provided proper place to other languages besides Urdu and Telugu. He said translation from English into Urdu, Telugu, Kannad, Marathi, Guajarati and other languages was done during Asif Jahi period. Accepting that the spread of hatred against Muslim community during police action and discrimination against Muslims created inferiority complex among Muslims of Telangana. He declared reservations to Muslims in all fields essential to eliminate this inferiority complex among Muslims.
