Urdu language practically ended in Collectorate of Hyderabad

Hyderabad District is the largest of all the districts in the State in which Govt. declared Urdu as the second official language. The largest population of Urdu speakers is residing in Hyderabad only. It is the responsibility of the Collector of the district to implement the policy of making Urdu as a second official language.

Nawab Mohammed Kazim Ali Khan, President of Ambedkar National Congress in a statement issued yesterday told that in Collectorate of Hyderabad, Urdu has practically been vanished from official correspondence. In his statement, he mentioned that in Collectorate, only Telugu is inscribed on all the boards. Whichever officer of the office of the Collector has got this work done, has violated the Govt. orders. He has ridiculed Urdu language. Only the board of Urdu Cell contains its name in Urdu along with English. He told that with this act of partiality, the sentiments of Urdu speakers have been hurt. He demanded the Minster of Minority Welfare to take immediate steps in getting the sign boards written in Urdu on all the 14 districts where Urdu is declared as a second official language.

He also demanded that Urdu should be written on all the buses, bus stations and railways stations.
