Urdu is our mother tongue. Urdu-knowers have the foremost responsibility of promoting Urdu language. These view were expressed by Urdu experts and intellectuals during Urdu Convention held at Urdu Maskan Khilwat auditorium.
Mr. Syed Shahabuddin Hashmi Bureau Chief Siasat Daily, editor Gawah Fazil Husain Parvez, Anees ur Rahman ETV Urdu, M A Hameed Deccan Radio, Mohammed Farooq Sakshi, Husamuddin TV 99 (Ruby TV) were given journalist awards. Besides 50 Urdu teachers and 50 Urdu students were also presented awards.
