There was a time when titles of Hindi films would be written in Urdu on the Censor Board Certificates. Even the credits would be written in Urdu. Gradually, the language was phased out of Hindi films, which pre-dominantly became Hindi and English.
Now, thanks to actor Emraan Hashmi, who is said to have a considerable fan base among the Urdu speaking audience, the language is likely to make a comeback. Apparently, producers of his upcoming film Raaz 3 got several requests and mails asking for the movie’s poster in Urdu.As a result, the production house has now come up with a special poster in Urdu that will be released in the festive period of Eid. Says Vijay Singh of Fox Star Studio, which is producing the film “There is no denying the huge mass-appeal Emraan has. His fan following is huge, so much so that we had several requests for a special poster for Eid. We will now have a special Urdu poster done for him.”
In fact, the production house also released a special trailer of the film along with Ek Tha Tiger. While the first trailer doing the rounds was certified A, they got a special U/A trailer made to be released with the Salman Khan starrer.
Emraan, who is currently busy shooting for Ghanchakkar has much reason to celebrate Eid with a couple of hits in his kitty, the last one being Jannat 2. However, he has prior commitments and so will be working on the festive day.
