Despite being 2nd official language Urdu has failed in achieving its due place in secretariat. Although the government has announced giving the status of 2nd official language to Urdu in 15 districts, but this status in only on paper or in the office file.
Take a visit to secretariat and you will find the name plates of most of the ministers and high officials only in Telugu and English. Some of the nameplates which are written in Urdu have incorrect spelling. There is no arrangement for correction of the nameplates. No Urdu officer has been appointed in the chief minister’s office. Some of the officials of Minority Welfare have not even allotted the nameplate.
