Urdu Academy Jeddah Saudi Arabia and Confederation of Minority Institutions are jointly organising Urdu Convention on “Promotion of Urdu Language in English Medium Schools” on Thursday, March 19, at 9:30 am Urdu Maskan Auditorium opposite Chawmohalla Palace, Khilwat Road. Mr. M S Farooq president COMI will preside over. Mr. Jamalullah Quadri president Urdu Academy Jeddah, Saudi Arabia will be the chief guest. Mr. Shujat Ali Shaji, Deputy Director Doordarshan, Dr. Islamuddin Mujahed, Prof Sulaiman Siddiqui ex-Vice Chancellor, Osmania University, Dr. Ather Sultana will be guests of honour. According to Mr. Khaleel ur Rahman General Secretary 50 teachers, 50 students and 10 journalists of Urdu will be presented awards.
Award winners in journalist category include Mr. Syed Shahabuddin Hashmi, M A Hameed from Siasat, Taher Rumani from Munsif, Fazil Husain Parvez editor Gawah, and Anees ur Rahman from ETV Urdu.
