Urdu is counted among top 5 languages of the world. Urdu is fast gaining popularity in other countries of the world specially America. Many literary organisations are working there for promotion of Urdu.
President Friends of Hyderabad Forum, Chicago, Mr. Mir Sadat Ali Khan is on a visit to Hyderabad. He told that Urdu classes are being conducted every Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 m at ICC masjid Chicago and MEC masjid Martin Guru. A large number of people interested in reading and writing Urdu attend the classes. He told that Friends of Hyderabad has undertaken the task of promoting Urdu in America particularly in Chicago. Mr. Iftekhar Shareef is the chairman while Prof. Ataullah Khan is playing remarkable role in promoting Urdu among new generation.
Mr. Sadat Ali Khan informed that 30- 40 thousand Hyderabadis reside in Chicago.
