In a press note, Prof S A Shukoor director/secretary Urdu Academy Andhra Pradesh stated that altogether 233 manuscripts were received for the year 2011-12 by authors and poets, of which 109 manuscripts have been selected for financial assistance.
A committee comprising of noted authors, poets, scholars and journalists was formed to scrutinize and select the manuscripts. Urdu academy is releasing its 1st installment of financial aid to the selected manuscripts. All selected authors and poets have been sent written intimation in this connection and have been requested to collect the cheques of their first installment from Urdu academy head office.
