Urdu Academy has announced its awards to Urdu writers and poets.
Prof. S.A.Shukoor, Director of Urdu Academy in a press conference told that Urdu Academy had called for Urdu writes and poets to submit their writings.
He also disclosed that Urdu teachers have been selected for the awards. A function will be held on 24th September at Madina Education Center to distribute awards. He told that 5 awards would be given from every district.
No application has been received from Srikakulam District for the award.
Awards will also be given to best Urdu students. He also said that Urdu books published between 2008 and 2011 will selected for the award.
Small newspapers have also been given financial aid.
Prof. Shukor told that Urdu Academy would take possession of Urdu Bhavan on 15th September.
The newly constructed Urdu Bhavan in the old city is fully air-conditioned. It can accommodate 500 persons. It will facilitate Urdu speakers to conduct functions in the old city.
Mr. Shaik Jaffer, superintendent, Mr. Athaullah Khan, Mr. V.Krishna, Mr. Rashid Zaberi of Urdu Academy were present at the press conference.
Prof. Shukoor told that Minorities Welfare Minister, Mr. Syed Mohammed Ahemullah would be the Chief Guest, for the Teachers’ Award function. He disclosed that attempts are being made to get the courses of Computer Center recognized by Maulana Azad National Urdu University.
