UPTU to videograph examinations

Mathura, March 13: In an effort to check cases of cheating and impersonation in its entrance test, UP Technical University has decided to videograph the examinations, an official said today. “In order to asses fairness during examination, Videography of the entire examination process would be conducted.

It would pave the way for appearance of only genuine candidates in the entrance examination,” Prof Kripa Shankar, Vice Chancellor of UPTU said. Moreover, use of similar photographs in all the concerned forms has been made compulsory and any form containing unclear photograph would be cancelled.

“In order to maintain transparency an undertaking will also be taken from invigilators affirming that none of their relative is appearing in the examination,” he added. The invigilators would also have to give an undertaking stating their non-association with coaching institutes.

“Wrong information by invigilators would invite penal action including filing of FIR,” he said. The VC noted that no person would be allowed within 200 metres radius of the entrance examination.

The examination is held every year for admission in a number of technical courses like engineering, management, fashion and design, architecture, pharmacy, hotel management, Computer Applications and architecture in private unaided/government aided colleges in Uttar Pradesh. The exam will be held on 17th and 18th April this year.
