Hyderabad: A few days ago the Central Board of Secondary Education had announced a hike in the exam fees in CBSE schools.
The parents are being charged 2500 to 3000 as the exam fee and no receipt is given to the students for paying the exam fees for class X and XII.
Discussion on social media:
Some CBSE schools are overcharging and this was came to light when some parents shares the new schedule for the fee.
No Complaint:
Parents of the students has not lodged any complaint as the class X and XII seems crucial years. The parents are not willing to raise a hue and cry, fearing that doing so would affect the student.
As reported by Deccan Chronicle, Nagati Narayana, the Telangana Parents Association (TPA) president said, “The fee hike is 100% in the general category across the spectrum. It has increased from Rs. 750 to Rs. 1,500 per student for five subjects and the additional fees have increased from Rs. 150 to RS. 300 per student. This a burden for parents as many of them send their children to CBSE schools for a good education and this kind of a fee structure can be a deterrent.”
Parents are requested to check the CBSE website before making payment in any of the categories.
Discouraging Parents:
The president of Balala Hakkula Sangham, Achyut Rao explained that the hike in exam fee will discourage those from the low economic grade. The exam fee of SC and ST students has increased from Rs. 50 to Rs. 1,200 per student. This will not encourage others to choose for these schools from the next academic year.”
