Upper age limit for SC recruitment extended

Hyderabad, June 03: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday extended the upper age concession of five years granted in favour of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes for direct recruitment over and above the age limit prescribed in State and Subordinate Service Rules / Special Rules.

The Chief Minister took this decision with an objective of uplift of the disadvantaged persons of the Society and providing equal opportunities to all.

The State Government is providing age concession in direct recruitment to Public Service in favour of the SCs/ST candidates. The upper age limit is raised by 5 years to the candidates belonging to SC/ST category from time to time to ensure their proper representation in services.

The lower age limit of 18 years and upper age limit of 33 years have been prescribed for direct recruitment. Certain age concessions were allowed for the protected groups of the Society as detailed below: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC – 33+5 years, Physically Handicapped persons – 33+10 years, the ceiling of the upper age limit including all concessions to candidates belonging to SC/ST – 45 years and the ceiling of the upper age limit including all concessions to candidates belonging to BC – 40 years.
