New Delhi, June 23: The home ministry has rejected Afzal Guru’s mercy plea and has ent it back to the president. The government has said that the nature of crime is heinous and Afzal deserves no mercy.
The Parliament attack convict had written to home ministry asking for a decision — either for or against — on his mercy petition on the grounds that being in solitary confinement for several years was taking its toll on him.
