10:30 PM: City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma talked to media at Police Commissionerate on Friday thanked the people for their cooperation that ensured peaceful conduct of Friday prayers at Makkah Masjid and other mosques in the Old City.
2: 10 PM Updated: Friday Prayer passed off peacefully at Makkah Masjid.Two stones were thrown at Dcp party ,Regular announcements were made from loudspeakers that no one will be allowed to go towards Gulzarhouz from Charminar side and those interested should come out of Mahjareen gate and go towards Gulzar houz from chowk area.
1:50 PM Updated: Friday prayer passed off peacefully at Makkah Masjid. Muslims were struggled to reach the Makkah Masjid for Friday prayer under heavy police bandobast. Puja at Bhagyalaxmi Temple was stopped at 11:30 PM. Vehicles were not alloweded and only pedestrian are allowed for prayer in Makkah Masjid. All Mosques situated in surrounding areas of Charminar were blocked with barricades.
Puja was closed from 11:30 AM.
12:30Pm Updated: Hundereds of Muslim came for Friday prayer in Makkah Masjid, Friday prayer at 1″o” Clock in Makkah Masjid.
11:30am Updated: Hari bowli road are blocked and opposite road of Nayab function hall moghal pura road are also blocked.
10:40 AM Updated: Vehicles are not allowed, only pedestrian are allowed for prayer in Makkah Masjid.All Mosque situated in surrounding areas of charminar are blocked with barricades.
Ringing of bells at Bhagya laxmi Mandir started at 10:30am in the presence of police forces.
Police is taking extraordinary measures to maintain peace in City.
Last Friday, Violence broke out in Old City of Hyderabad after the Friday prayer at Makkah Masjid. Police lobbed tear gas cannisters after the repeated lathicharges proved ineffective to quell mobs near Charminar. A tense situation prevailed in the Old City as the huge crowd began throwing stones on the police.Normalcy return from very next day.
Security in the Old City area here has been stepped up with deployment of additional forces including RAF in view of Friday prayers today.
Bhagwant Rao, head of the Bhagyalakshmi Temple Protection Samithi claim A temple existed even before Charminar was built and although the present structure came up later, He Said, we are committed to the protection of the temple at any cost.
