Upcoming tollywood actor dies in Nepal tragedy

The Himalayan earthquake in Nepal, which has already claimed nearly 3500 lives and injuries to hundreds of others, has struck a tragic blow to the Tollywood film industry when an upcoming actor died while trying to flee from the trembling town of Kathmandu late last night.
While a choreographer-turned-actor, Vijay, died, two other unit members sustained injuries when their car turned turtle and fell into a huge gauge on the road caused by an after-shock tremor of 5.4 magnitude on Richter Scale recorded late last night, according to information available here.
A native of Bapatla in Guntur district, Vijay, went along with a film unit from Hyderabad to Nepal last week for the shooting of his debut-making movie titled “ Vetakaram” . After shooting various scenes including dance sequences in various parts of the picturesque Himalayan kingdom, the film unit had to abandon further shooting following the earthquake and decided to return to Hyderabad.
The young actor and few others were traveling in their car in the night to reach the airport and then fly back home. However as the vehicle was on its way, another tremor rocked the area. The speeding vehicle lost control in the pitched darkness and turned turtle and fell into the huge gauge on the road caused by the tremors, reports reaching here indicated.
While Vijay died on the sport, two others were injured and later admitted to hospital. Efforts are on to bring the body of the dead actor to the city. More details about the tragedy and the fate of other unit members were not available. (NSS).
