BJP national president Rajnath Singh has said the UPA had promised Telangana State in its Common Minimum Program and demanded that it should be fulfilled.
Rajnath Singh came here to participate in the party’s public meeting in the city on Monday and talked to the media on the occasion. The BJP chief said there was no occasion when the BJP went back on its word. He asserted that his party was committed to its word on Telangana. Charging the Congress of going back on its promise on Telangana, he said BJP on the other hand would fulfil its promise of conceding Telangana soon after coming to power in 2014. Stressing the need to create Telangana State, Rajnath Singh reminded that it was the BJP, which had the distinction of creating smaller States.
Rajnath has alleged that the country failed in all sectors under the rule of UPA. Stating that the Defence and External Affairs sectors got weakened, he said even India’s relations with the neighboring countries had worsened. He lamented that though the Chinese forces entered our borders, the government was not bothered and was in a helpless situation. He sarcastically said the Indian Foreign Minister was anxious to visit China.
Rajnath Singh criticized the government by stating that it had not bothered even when Pakistani forces beheaded Indian jawans. He charged the Centre with trying to push the responsibility of the Maoist attack on his party. He has alleged that there was no action plan with the Union government to check the menace of the Maoists. Stating that the Congress government at the Centre was trying to hoodwink people with sweet talk, Rajnath Singh said now the party was tying to take advantage of the Chattisgarh mssacre and blame the BJP.
Referring to the control of fiscal deficit, he said the government failed in it and management of the country’s finances. He said the government was trying to wash off its hands by making ministers resign, when they face corruption charges. He praised the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi by stating that he was the most popular leader I the country he said Shivaraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh had also developed the state well.
