New Delhi, April 17: Taking a dig at the UPA Government at the Centre, BJP national president Nitin Gadkari said that the Congress regime’s scams and scandals had become the most popular mega serial on television.
“Every day, new corruption cases involving Congress and UPA leaders are surfacing,” the BJP leader said while mentioning in detail various corruption cases including 2G spectrum, CVC, the Hasan Ali case, Adarsh scam, black money issues, Commonwealth Games and various other scams.
“But on every issue, why have Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi expressed their ignorance,” he wondered at a mammoth protest rally organised by the BJP at the Sapresala Ground in Raipur on Saturday against corruption and price hike.
He held the Congress regime’s economic policies responsible for poverty and corruption.
Speaking on the occasion former BJP president Rajnath Sigh also mentioned about the alleged failures and corruption of the Congress regime. Only a BJP or NDA Government can provide corruption-free good governance. “Let me point out that its only the BJP Government of Raman Singh which is caring to give shoes to tendu leaf collectors, bicycles to tribal children and 35 kg rice at Rs 1 and Rs 2 per kg to the poorest and the poor,” Rajnath Singh said adding that this was possible only in Chhattisgarh.
Amid clapping and shouting of slogans Rajnath Singh pointed out that Chhattisgarh was making impressive progress in development and appealed to the Maoists saying, “Please spare Chhattisgarh from violence as the State is making good progress in development”.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh also spoke at length about corruption cases under the UPA Government at the Centre. He also spoke about his State Government’s development initiatives and welfare schemes for the poor people living in remotest areas.
