UPA govt soft on terror: BJP

Bangalore, September 03: BJP today accused the UPA government of going “soft” on terrorism and naxalism.

“The Congress-led government at the Centre is displaying confused and soft attitude towards terrorism and naxalism,” BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said at a press conference here.

“The National Advisory Committee has members who support Maoists,” Naqvi alleged.

Despite opposition parties extending support, the government has failed to tackle these issues, he said.

Naqvi described Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s remarks on “saffron terrorism” as an attempt to divert the people’s attention from “real” terrorism.
