UPA Govt should demit office: Shanwaz

Former Union Minister and BJP National Spokesperson Shanwaz Hussain today demanded the UPA II Government at the Centre resign ‘as it lost the confidence of its own allies, opposition parties and also the people for taking anti-people measures like hiking diesel prices, allowing FDI in multi-brand retail and putting a cap on gas cylinders for each family. Addressing a press conference here, he said the UPA allies should follow Trinamool Congress and withdraw support to the Manmohan Singh Government in the interest of the people of the country.

Describing the Manmohan Singh Government as a ‘sinking ship’, the BJP senior leader said the UPA Government was involved in the coalgate scam and recently, the decisions were against the common man and added ‘the ship may sink anytime.’ Mr Hussain said the allies should be cautious while sailing in the sinking ship and save themselves and protect the interest of the people.
