Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu today alleged the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the centre was now a ‘minority’ government after the withdrawal of support by the Trinamool Congress headed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee yesterday. Addressing a press conference here, Mr Naidu reidiculed the statements of Cabinet ministers like Ambika Soni and others in English satellite channels today that it had a majority and the numbers. Mr Naidu dared the Congress Ministers to reveal who was supporting the UPA and added it had no immediate plans to move a no-trust motion in the Lok Sabha. Let the UPA government prove its majority if it is confident that they have the numbers, he charged. He said the UPA was a ‘divided alliance’. Mr Naidu charged the centre ‘would complete its agenda in the coming days with the train fares and fertiliser prices set to go up in the name of reforms and added it would not rest till hiking of prices of kerosene and petrol also.
