New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Reiterating its demand for an independent probe into the allegations against an NGO, headed by Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid and his wife, the BJP today said the UPA government was busy in “protecting” the ministers.
“The inflation rate has increased and value of rupee has gone down again. Instead of protecting the economy, the Congress-led UPA government is protecting its ministers who are facing allegations,” BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain told reporters here.
Indirectly referring to Mr Khurshid, he said the ministers have been “misusing” the government machinery to protect themselves.
Mr Hussain alleged that the government was diverting attention from the issue of scams, including coal blocks allocation.
He lashed out at Mr Khurshid for his behaviour towards a news channel which aired sting against Mr Khurshid’s trust.”The BJP condemns Mr Khurshid’s behaviour towards the news channel,” Mr Hussain added.
Replying to another question about the next Parliament session, he said the BJP sticks to its demand of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s resignation on coal blocks allocation issue.
The principal Opposition party had stalled the previous session on the issue.
Asked on social activist Arvind Kejriwal’s next target, he said anybody was free to level allegation.
