UoH inks pact with Cambridge University Press India

Hyderabad, March 25: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Cambridge University Press India for collaboration in research publications in the fields of social sciences, natural sciences and humanities.

As per the agreement, scholarly publications from the university would be brought out in the form of books, journals, monographs both in printed and electronic form. The manuscripts submitted by the university would be peer reviewed and expert opinion obtained before a decision was taken to publish them.

“Every scholarly product will have two to three peer reviews,” Manas Saikia, Managing Director, Cambridge University Press India said after signing the agreement. UoH Vice-Chancellor Seyed E.Hasnain observed that the initiative would have the works from university available across the world and royalty flowing back.

The Cambridge University Press India would publish and copyright the work while holding the right to make the titles available on a print-on-demand basis. It would be left with the entire management of the production, reprint, sales and translation of the work and secure copyright permission on behalf of the author for copyright materials included in the work.

The terms of the agreement would be initially for a period of five years with automatic renewal thereafter for an additional two-year period by mutual consent. The UoH would be paid a pre-determined rate of royalty on the net receipts of all printed copies sold of each work published under this agreement.
