Though there was some respite from the sweltering heat as some parts of the city witnessed rain showers. But the showers were accompanied with unprecedented hailstorm which hit the city at around 5 pm today and continued for atleast 20 minutes.
Sources also said that young men and children who were trying to collect the hailstones sustained minor injuries as the hailstones were of the size of concrete stones and hit their hands hard. Many plants also got shattered.
Rain resulted in traffic jams along various roads. City denizens were left without electricity for 3 to 4 hours.
