Unknown gunmen kill 5 in northern Iraq

Mosul, December 06: Unknown assailants have killed five people in three separate attacks in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, police say.

In the first incident, gunmen opened fire on a police officer and two guards in the city on Saturday and killed them all, DPA quoted police sources as saying.

In a later incident on the same day, a woman was killed and her daughter injured when unknown gunmen opened fire on them.

Unidentified assailants also killed an elderly man in a separate attack in eastern Mosul.
