Unknown gunmen abduct 11 bus passengers in northern Afghanistan

Kabul : At least 11 bus passengers were abducted by unknown gunmen in Afghanistan’s northern Sar-e-Pul province.

The incident took place yesterday in Sayad district of the province when armed men stopped a bus and abducted 11 people, Zabihullah Amani, a spokesman for the Provincial Governor, reported Tolo news.

Amani said that the armed men reportedly released three women present inside the bus.

The search operation has been initiated by the police forces and it is still underway.

Further details of the incident are awaited. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.

Afghanistan in the past year has witnessed such incidents where scores of bus passengers were been abducted. (ANI)
