United for London: British Muslims raised over £17,000 to support Westminster attack victims

LONDON: Proving to anti-Muslim hatred people that Islam is by no means a hateful religion, British Muslims raised over £3,000 in just one hour in support of the victims of deadly terror attack which tore through Westminster at 2.42 pm on Wednesday.

The online donation campaign named Muslims United for London launched by a group of British Muslims, including  saw fund floods soon after the launched of the page and reached £17,000 till the time of writing.

Organiser Muddassar Ahmed initiated the LaunchGood campaign after witnessing the attack.

“A group of us decided to launch a campaign to raise money for the victims of the yesterday’s attack,” Ahmed wrote on his Facebook page, sharing the link to the online campaign.

In a statement Muslims United for London said:

The British Muslim community stands with the community during these difficult times and extends their support in raising funds to help with the immediate, short-term needs of the families of Keith Palmer, the other victims and the families of the victims.

While no amount of money will bring back lives lost or take away from the pain the victims and their families are going through, we hope to lessen their burden in some way.


The IS has claimed responsibility for the Westminster attack that claimed the lives of five as Scotland Yard confirmed that a fourth victim has died of injuries in an hospital.

Among 40 injured, 29 were admitted to hospital including 12 Britons, three French children, two Romanians, four South Koreans, one German, one Pole, one Irish, one Chinese, one Italian, one American and two Greeks.
