Govt. has started taking appropriate steps for awarding pensioner benefits to weavers. As per the details of this scheme, a weaver has to deposit Rs.1000 per month. Govt. will also deposit Rs.1000 as a matching pension contribution. At the end of twenty years, the weaver would get the pension of Rs.1000 per month.
Mr. Prasad Kumar, Minister for Handlooms and Textiles announced this scheme in Secretariat on the completion of his one-year tenure as minister. He inaugurated the website of the Department. He applauded the efforts taken by the C.M. for weavers. He released Rs.210 crore for the implementation of welfare schemes of the weavers.
